The origins of CIA date back to 1959 when the company began operations as a machine tool distributor. Mr. Walter Haas, its founder, immigrated from Czechoslovakia and grew the business into one of Eastern Canada’s largest machine tool distributors and importers of new and used metalworking equipment.
In the late 60’s, Michael Haas joined the firm and 10 years later, a new division “Canadian Industrial Auctioneers” was incorporated to serve the growing market demand for an efficient, effective asset disposition method. During the 80’s and 90’s, CIA continued to service private and public companies, banks and trustees’ asset disposition needs.
In the mid-90’s, the company expanded operations to the United States. CIA works in conjunction with affiliated offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, New York and Boston.
For the past 40 years, the foundation of this company was built on solid business principles and ethics.
